1: If you are running Windows Vista make sure to disable (UAC) User Account Control.
2: Uninstall any previous versions of ESET/ NOD32 completely using Your Uninstaller! when it asks to restart after uninstalling do not restart, click no instead and allow Your Uninstaller! to remove anything left behind. After that restart from the start menu.
3: After you have restarted, double click the installer.
4: When it asks you for a username and password, check the box that says “Set Update Parameters Later” and click next.
5: If it asks to restart after it has finished installing make sure you click NO, or else the patch won’t work.
6: Wait a minute and the restart manually from the start menu.
7: Open Eset Smart Security and update your virus signatures, after you update it should say you have over 24000 days left on your trial, if it doesn’t you have done something wrong, and remember this is only for 32 bit versions of Vista and XP. This trial won’t expire and is fully functional, don’t upgrade to full version or anything.
